Knowledge is one of those things that we can’t get enough of and it needs sharing! Having the ability to think for ourselves is a gift which we should all make use of and this blog is a mish mash of things I have discovered on my own path since that moment of clarity which hit me square between the eyes two decades ago – I didn’t have to accept everything I was told and there was more to life than following the crowd. Since then I have made it my business to explore my own spirituality, make my own mind up, research things I wasn’t sure about and try and discover what makes me happy and what helps me keep balanced.
When you are looking to improve your life it really isn’t about getting a bigger house, a bigger car, a better lifestyle…it’s all about feeling content with who YOU are inside.
I decided what would make me content is to carry on seeking knowledge about those subjects which interest me. I left organised religion behind and struck out on a new path, one which fitted my thoughts, ideals and needs. I embraced plants, herbs, nature and found contentment from within. I learnt techniques like Reiki (passing that knowledge on to family and friends so they could benefit too) and taught myself to work with crystal energies. I used aromatherapy to lighten my mood and to help with minor ailments.
But it didn’t stop there. I wanted to learn more about our ancestors from way back in time. I wanted to know how humans worked with astronomy and the seasons, their customs and their spiritual life. This led to an ongoing quest to search for answers among stories of myth and legend and also proven scientific facts. What did happen at the end of the last Ice Age and were we as a species more advanced before a catastrophic event wiped out the lives that we knew? Did we really start again? Who built the monuments around the world, some of which we can’t even recreate today? With sites such as Gobekli Tepe and Gunung Padang being excavated and examined in fine detail it is an exciting time for those interested in such things and I am one of them 🙂
I hope you will enjoy this mixed up pot of all the things which make the autumn of my years such a fascinating and fulfilling place for me to be right now and, more than that, I hope you find something which makes your own life a little easier too! We can’t change the world by clicking our fingers and wishing it but we can help pass knowledge on which has helped us as individuals and hope it helps someone else too 🙂
As an aside, I have decided from October 2016 to make my blog an Award/Challenge Free blog. This is for many reasons, not least of which is that I have a tendency to forget to do them and don’t want to waste people’s time or offend anyone.
I hope your day is a fabulous and fulfilling one!
Namaste and many blessings,
